Italy is decked out with Christmas décor and the vias & viales are packed with shoppers weighed down by Prada & Gucci gift bags.  Yesterday the Florence Symphony played for free in Piazza della Repubblica, which was a real treat and definitely put us all in the Christmas mood.  Here they have Italian versions of all of the same Christmas carols we sing, but like to throw random Sinatra into the mix whenever they can.  You never know when you might hear I Did It My Way wedged in between Oh Little Town of Bethlehem and Silent Night, and yesterday’s transition from Away in a Manger to Luck Be a Lady was certainly original.

And if Luck Be a Lady wasn’t enough to put me in the Christmas spirit, yesterday I became the proud aunt to one adorable little fellow named Baur Lloyd, who tipped the scales at 8lbs, 3oz, and is as chunky and squeezable as can be.  Congrats to parents Lily & Brandon on their new little bundle!

If you haven’t yet bought yourself a nice Christmas treat don’t forget to grab your new HOLLYWOULD Cruise 2008 wardrobe while we still have your size.  As you can see from the photo (right), the handsome Dillon Moneypenny was distraught when he found out he couldn’t get our new Red Patty Peeptoes in his size, but nevertheless is adjusting to the larger size just fine, and is certainly the envy of his playgroup.  Stay tuned…

Last night I headed out in the cold with my good pal Sparrow for a private screening of The Kite Runner hosted by Peggy Siegal at the MoMA. If you haven’t read the book you really must do so this week, and then be sure to see the movie as it is truly one of the best films of the year.  Stars attending the screening ranged from Brook Shields to Famke Janssen, but the real stars were the boys who played young Amir & Hassan (Zekiria Ebrahibi & Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada) and managed to steal the show with their extraordinary acting. 

This was one of my favorite books in recent memory, so getting to attend the screening with author Khaled Hosseini answering Q&A was a fabulous treat.  After the screening we all headed to Brasserie Ruhlmann for croque monsieurs and a glimpse at Rockefeller Center’s gigantic Christmas tree, which was more impressive than ever with Kite Runner fresh in our minds.

Although nothing beats New York City at Christmastime, tomorrow I’m heading to Florence, Italy to make sure all of your HOLLYWOULD Spring 2008 shoes, bags, and dresses arrive looking adorable in time for Valentine’s Day.  Now that you know what you’re wearing, you’ll just need to decide who is worthy of being your date.

The photos are finally up, so all you good lookin’ people who attended our Palm Beach party can finally see your fabulous selves to the right…

This week in NYC has been action packed, but the highlight of my week thus far was my trip yesterday to our HOLLYWOULD store in Nolita to pick out my new Cruise 2008 shoes, bags & frocks.  For any of you who live in warm climates or have upcoming trips to St. Barths, these are the perfect items to wear to all your sunset cocktail soirees.  My favorite outfit is our Sailboat Brigitte Dress with Red Patty Peeptoes - a look that guarantees you’ll win the “Cutest Girl at the Party” award.  I also picked up about 12 other items including the Green Orlene Sandals, the Red Micheala Espadrilles, the Octopus Jeweled Flat, and the Red Shell Daphne Dress.  If you don’t live near Nolita or Palm Beach, you’ll have to order online, but don’t wait too long or your size will disappear!

In other exciting news, our phone has been ringing off the hook with product requests for the new Sex & the City movie.  We loved the dressing the girls on the show and are thrilled to be dressing the girls for the movie, so look out for SJP & Co. in HOLLYWOULD coming soon to a a theater near you…

Hello Girls!  I have absolutely no excuse for taking a full three weeks vacation from writing in my diary, but hopefully the plethora of photos (right) and my recap below will make up for lost time…

The main event this week was a party for the launch of everyone’s favorite New York photographer Patrick McMullan’s fabulous new book, Glamour Girls, at the Valentino store on Madison Ave.  This is a book that is definitely worth buying for every glamour girl on your Christmas list, and I was sure to get my signed copy and may need a few more to give as gifts. Last week was spent recovering from our party in Palm Beach (more below), but I did manage to have a very late, very fun night out on the town with the perfect accomplice, which started at a bar called Bill’s at 6pm and ended at The Beatrice Inn near 3am, with The Tennis & Racquet Club, Rivington Arms, La Esquina, Bar Marche, Sweet & Vicious, The Rose Bar, and probably a few other places in between.  Oh la la.

Thanksgiving weekend was the annual HOLLYWOULD & Whitehall Society party in Palm Beach, which is held at the gorgeous & legendary Flagler Museum (see Dec 4, 2006 diary entry for last year’s event).  This is the best party of the year in Palm Beach, and definitely worth flying in on the jet or sailing in on the yacht in order to attend.  Big shout-out to all 486 of you who attended as well as The Flagler Museum crew, The Whitehall Society, our lovely HOLLYWOULD Hostesses, Moet Hennessey, Patrick Killean, DJ Jean-Marc, and HOLLYWOULD’s own Carolina Duran and guest-list guru, Francesca Traldi. 

The week before Thanksgiving is a distant memory, but the photos right will hopefully outline what was a very fun evening out for Eric Richman’s birthday (he is now finally 21).
