November 20th 2008 Once again, Padma looked stunning wearing HOLLYWOULD's coral bow top on last night's episode of Top Chef! Thank you Padma for being so fabulously beautiful and for choosing to wear HOLLYWOULD show after show! We love you!!!
November 16th 2008 I am elated to announce that the talented & gorgeous Padma Lakshmi has been wearing HOLLYWOULD on the new season’s premier of Top Chef! This week she looked divine for the premiere in HOLLYWOULD’s Cruise 2009 yellow top, and next week she’ll be drop-dead stunning in our new coral bow top, so you really must watch. I couldn’t be happier, as Padma is by far the chicest woman on TV, and also happens to be extremely down to earth and nice, along with just plain beautiful. I have to admit that although my cooking skills are limited to mixing different varieties of cereal, I’ve been addicted to Top Chef from the very first season. Much like Project Runway, Top Chef is actually inspiring reality TV because it showcases people who are talented and passionate about what they do, and who have put in long hours of dedication into becoming experts in their fields. These are the types of shows kids need to watch instead of, say, The Hills, so they can see that passion, dedication, & hard work makes for a far more interesting person than highlights, boob jobs, and spray tans. But alas… Speaking of boob jobs and trashy TV, I plead guilty to being seriously infatuated with The Housewives of Atlanta. It’s gotten so bad that last week I attended a small but star-studded party along with the likes of Selma Hayek, Molly Sims, Jason Lewis, Ali Larter, Kim Raver, Rose Byrne, (and many other celebs from shows like House, Sisters & Brothers, Grey’s Anatomy, etc), and I realized I couldn’t recognize any of the hot new celebrities because I had been watching far too much Housewives instead of Emmy nominated shows. Honestly, if you’re name isn’t “NeNe”, I have no idea who you are. There are a few stars I do recognize, however, and on Monday I attended a truly star-studded benefit for the Christopher Reeves Foundation, which was a fabulous time for a magnificent cause. The roster of celebs at this event ranged from Oscar winners like Meryl Streep and Glen Close to Kathleen Turner, Molly Sims, Lindsay Price, Beth Stern, Kim Raver, Robert Buckley, Kim Alexis, David Blaine, and artist Chuck Close, who all came out to support this amazing cause. If you read this diary you know that HOLLYWOULD linked up with Francesco Clark & Alexandra Reeves earlier this summer with an event at our store for the Christopher Reeve Foundation’s Champions Committee, which I highly suggest you join today. Girls, just follow the link and sign up, and you’ll be so happy you did: http://www.christopherreeve.org There’s more to come, so stay tuned next Weds, Nov 19th for Padma wearing more HOLLYWOULD on Top Chef, and also don’t miss out Top Secret VIP Sale with the Gilt Group by logging onto http://www.gilt.com/vip/HollywouldVIP! Shhhhhh.... November 6th 2008
Girls, we have a new President. I arrive from Like everyone else in I have to admit, I wasn’t 100% crazy about the dress either, but at least she took a fashion risk. I’m always a bigger fan of someone who goes out on a limb with their fashion choices than someone who plays it safe. Carla Bruni’s pillbox hat? Horrifying, but at the same time strangely fabulous. It’s always more interesting to gamble with ending up on a “worst dressed” list than to fall into the category of “safe”. After all, it’s a proven fact that the Oscars are just plain boring unless I’m looking forward to seeing what other risks Michelle takes fashion-wise, and just hope she doesn’t get scared of fashion criticism and resort to playing it safe. I hope she continues to keep it colorful (loved her teal blue dress), have fun with those prints (like her Thakoon at the DNC), knock ‘em dead with big jewelry (like her brooches), and isn’t afraid of trying something new, like a bit of frills or pink, some embroidered Oscar de la Renta, or perhaps even HOLLYWOULD’s royal “Loulou” dress, which would be a fabulous shape & color for her. We’re waiting for your call Michelle. In the meantime, there’s more to come, so stay tuned... November 4th 2008 VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! I don't care who you vote for, just get out and vote! |
