November 28th 2004 Hopefully you’ve all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! To kick off the holidays, we’ve decided to reinstate a long-lost favorite on The Diary… THE HOLLYWOULD BACHELORS!!! (see Jan 19, 2004 for full explanation) Between now and New Years, every week we’ll post a single hottie who you can email as much as your heart desires. We made a few successful matches with our last batch of bachelors, so you never know what will happen! All HOLLYWOULD Bachelors are “HOLLYWOULD Approved”, which means we know them all (mostly friends of my brother) and give them the thumbs up. And, if you know any guys who want to be bachelors, have them answer the questions below and email us at hotdate@ilovehollywould.com HOLLYWOULD BACHELOR #1 Code Name: Mags Holly’s Comments: Girls, I’ve known the kid forever and he is a catch! Much cuter in person than photo, by the way. Email him now - he is hilarious! November 22nd 2004 Warning: The Saks Fifth Avenue Ballets are selling out fast (see pictured right), so you might want to get your order in pronto to their NYC, Palm Beach, & Beverly Hills stores! My favorite look? The polka dot ballet with jeans and a bright sweater, just to prove to your mom that even though you did dye your hair black, pierce your ear 5 times, and wear marroon lip-liner for a phase, you haven't forgotten your Official Preppy Handbook roots. November 20th 2004 You heard it here first… All HOLLYWOULD Fall 2005 is now 25% Off! This means that all of you girls who begged, pleaded, and cried over those Farrah boots can finally afford a pair. The Farrah boots, for those of you who don’t know, are named after Farrah Fawcett because they are soooo Charlie’s Angels foxy. They caused a bit of a shopping frenzy the moment they hit our store, and we had so many supermodels clamoring for them that we had to reorder immediately. Now that the reorder has arrived, you can all benefit from the discount as long as we’ve got your size left – which isn’t likely but worth a try. I’ve been loving all three colors of Farrah boots here in Italy, which I wear with jeans tucked in or scrunched down with long or micro-mini skirts. The Angels would be so proud. November 18th 2004
HOLLYWOULD Newsflash!!! If you're as addicted to US Weekly as we are, you've already seen page 86 in this week's copy, where our Nolita shop was featured along with some of our very favorite HOLLYWOULD customers, including Reese Witherspoon, Liv Tyler, Cameron Diaz, and Mischa Barton. Thank you US Weekly for the fabulous press, and thank you Reese, Liv, Cameron, and Mischa for loving us as much as we love you! And while we're on the topic of celebs with great taste, earlier this week Britain’s most beautiful fashion icon (and Hugh Grant’s new flame), Jemima Khan, has also been shopping chez HOLLYWOULD. We’re so excited that she has discovered us, and know she will look très, très belle in our new Resort collection! Speaking of looking très, très belle in HOLLYWOULD, it seems that ever since our dress launch at Saks Fifth Avenue last week, all of the girls chez nous have received non-stop flowers, phone calls, text-messages, and emails from eligible, handsome, smitten bachelors. We would all love to think it has something to do with our wit, charm, and God-given good looks, but the fact that we all tend to go out very often, and never with such astounding success, has lead us to believe the secret must be in the dresses! After all, we were all wearing them that night, and ever since it’s been raining men. As a result, we’ve all decided that despite the snow we intend to brave the cold and wear our HOLLYWOULD dresses every chance we get. A girl can never have too many admirers, after all. And last, we will be having another party at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills on December 1st, so if you know any marvelous HOLLYWOULD girls in the area who would like to attend, please have them email us their mailing addresses. In the meantime, our man-catching dresses are selling out fast, so I recommend hitting up your local Saks before it’s too late! November 13th 2004 As promised, Saks Fifth Avenue party pics posted today... November 12th 2004 It’s taken a solid 48 hours, but we are all finally semi-recovered from our hangovers from our big bash Wednesday night. The events began at 6pm when we all headed up to Saks Fifth Avenue for our party to launch the new dress collection. As you all know, the HOLLYWOULD dresses are sold exclusively at Saks, which made it the perfect place to have our soiree. Thanks to an endless supply of champagne and fabulous music from our DJ Paul Sevigny, the party was rockin’ and was packed with all of our very favorite friends, editors, and New York fashionistas including Allison Aston, Meredith Melling-Burke, Zani Gugelmann, Celerie Kemble, Eleanor Lembo, Ivanka Trump, Jill Kargman, Gillian Hearst-Shaw, Kenneth Jay Lane, Hamish Bowles, Fabian Basabe, Kate Schelter, Samantha Leas, Hudson Morgan, Tracey Stern, Peggy Seigal, Luisa Beccaria, Alice & Tom Sykes, and the fabulous HOLLYWOULD Staff. Thank you all for letting me shamelessly name-drop for this entire paragraph, and for coming out and making our party a hit! By 8pm we were all delightfully tipsy, so the whole HOLLYWOULD crew decided to head on downtown for drinks, dinner and a post-party recap. Because we were all decked out on our full-length neon party dresses & furs, we knew it would make perfect sense to head to dinner at our favorite fast food joint/nightclub, Pop Burger. We love Pop Burger. Not only are their bite-size mini hamburgers divine, but they also serve booze, play excellent music, and pack the place out with New Jersey Foxes. New Jersey Foxes, for those of you who don’t know, are a whole different species from New York Foxes, and we actually think they’re superior. Really, why wear an Armani suit for a night on the town when you could be wearing your favorite hockey jersey and stoned washed jeans instead? So hot. After much eating, drinking, and shenanigans at Pop Burger, we decided it was time to act more like fashionistas and headed on over to Soho House to continue the festivities. As you know, Soho House has a strict “members only” policy, and despite (or due) to the fact that anyone who’s anyone in New York is a member, I am not. On any other night this would have been a barrier to entry, but when we all showed up in our low cut neon dresses and high heels, the “members only” policy was curiously overlooked. Once inside we all headed up to the bar where we were joined by many of our Saks party revelers and the carousing continued until 1am. Now, you might assume that since it was 1am and we had all been slamming booze since 6pm, we would make the wise decision to head on home. Clearly you don’t know HOLLYWOULD girls. Never ones to turn down a party, we all headed up to Marquee where the dancin’ & drinkin’ continued until 3am. And, if you think that 3am was the end of it, think again. Anyone who’s anyone knows that 3am is the perfect time to hit Bungalow 8 for a few more dance moves, which is exactly what we did. By the time my head hit the pillow at 4:30am, I had a sneaking suspicion that the champagne/beer/vodka/Pop Burger combo wasn’t going to work in my favor the following day. If you spoke with me yesterday, you know I was right. Am off to Italy tomorrow where I intend to act more like an adult and rehabilitate myself completely. Will keep you posted on the outcome and will post Saks party pics later this week... November 11th 2004 Needless to say, after last night’s fabulous party at Saks Fifth Avenue, which ended at Bungalow 8 around 4am, we are all more than a little bit hungover at HOLLYWOULD this morning. The party pics and diary entry will be posted tomorrow once the fog has cleared, so stay tuned… In the meantime, we would love to thank Saks Fifth Avenue for throwing such a magnificent soiree; Allison Aston, Meredith Melling-Burke, Zani Gugelmann, Jill Kargman, Celerie Kemble, Eleanor Lembo, and Ivanka Trump for being such gorgeous hostesses; and DJ Paul Sevigny for makin’ the party rock. You all rule. Thank you! November 9th 2004 I have just returned from Palm Beach and have decided that I definitely need to spend much, much more time there. It is paradise! My past week has been non-stop parties and adventure, and with our big shin-dig coming up this week at Saks and parties all week long, there isn’t an end in sight. We’ve just had a trunk show at Saks Fifth Avenue in Palm Beach this past weekend (see photos), but our Wednesday night dress launch event here in NYC is sure to keep us out all night. Speaking of dresses, if you think you’ll be living in one of these little frocks this holiday season like I will, you must order them ASAP! We’ve already been selling out quickly, so I highly recommend you call your local Saks and have them send you one before its too late: And, if you’re interested to see what’s coming for next season from HOLLYWOULD, check out style.com or elle.com (so sorry girls, these aren’t links so you’ll have to cut & paste): http://style.com/fashionshows/collections/S2005RTW/editor/102604/ http://elle.com/article.asp?section_id=7&article_id=5535 And last, forgive me if I haven’t been keeping you in my party circuit loop as usual, but I promise to document my misbehavior much better this week. Stay tuned… November 1st 2004 Hello Ladies! I have been busy slaving away for the past few days putting the finishing touches on the Fall 2005 collection, and it’s going to be divine. I wish I could tell you all of the lovely details, but we’ve been told that there are more than a few inferior brands who frequent this site, so we’ll have to keep it under wraps until it hits the stores! Speaking of hitting the stores... our new Resort dresses, shoes, and handbags have hit Saks Fifth Avenue today! Saks is the first store to get them (we don’t even have them out yet in our store), so if you want to get your size while the selection is good, call Saks in Palm Beach, NYC, or Beverly Hills today! In other news, this past week our favorite California girl, Mischa Barton, has been making the rounds in NYC doing all of her press junkets wearing HOLLYWOULD! Be sure to look for Mischa looking fabulous in all our new things. And last but not least, get to the polls and vote because if you don’t, you aren’t allowed to complain about anything government related for four more years. Line at the Post Office too long? You didn’t vote. Speeding ticket and you weren’t even speeding? Hush up and pay it. Framed for smuggling drugs when coming back from vacation in Mexico? Talk to the hand, amigo. VOTE! |
